Cookie Policy

What cookies and similar browser storage postUGC uses, why, and how you can control them.

Effective: September 29, 2026Version 1.1

1. What This Policy Covers

This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage technologies (such as localStorage) that postUGC uses on our website and dashboard, and why we use them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

2. Cookies and Storage We Use

postUGC does not use advertising cookies or third-party advertising pixels. The list below describes the cookies and browser storage we use:

  • Authentication session cookies (essential) — keep you signed in and secure your session across the dashboard. Required for the Service to function; cannot be disabled without logging you out.
  • Admin session cookie (essential, admin panel only) — a signed, HTTP-only cookie used solely to authenticate our internal team on the separate admin panel. Not set for regular user accounts.
  • Payment checkout cookies (essential, third-party) — set by our payment processor on its hosted checkout and billing portal pages when you subscribe or manage billing. Governed by the payment processor's own privacy and cookie practices.
  • PostHog product analytics — local browser storage supports page-view, click, feature-usage, heatmap, device, and IP-address analytics. Signed-in dashboard activity is associated with an internal account ID so we can understand the journey from the website and demo into the product.
  • PostHog session recording — records interactions in the demo and dashboard so we can find usability problems. Input fields are masked; recordings are not enabled on the public landing pages.
  • Analytics consent preference (when shown) — a localStorage entry remembers whether you allowed or declined analytics so we can honor your selection on later visits.
  • Local storage: notification flags (functional) — a small browser localStorage entry that remembers which in-app notifications you have already dismissed, stored only on your device.

3. Analytics Controls

We respect browser Do Not Track signals. You can also prevent or remove analytics storage through your browser's privacy and site-data controls. Where an analytics consent notice is displayed, choosing No thanks disables PostHog analytics and session recordings without affecting access to the website, demo, or dashboard.

4. Controlling Cookies

Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies and localStorage through their settings. Blocking essential authentication storage will prevent dashboard sign-in. You can withdraw or change your analytics choice by clearing site data for postUGC; the consent notice will appear again on your next visit. Browser Do Not Track signals are also respected by our PostHog configuration.
